Advances in Catalyst Quality and Conversion Equipment for Sulphuric Acid Manufacture

This paper describes some reasons why in the years before 1973 limited attention was paid to better catalysts for sulphuric acid manufacture and why catalyst producers became activated again after 1974. Some guidelines for the selection of a catalyst type are given.

Information is supplied about some catalyst producers and their product. Contributions of Engineering firms on the subject of converter construction and energy economy concerning this catalytic reaction, are noted.
